Compensation: Per Classified Salary Schedule (New hires start on Step 1 $16.10. Internal hires will be placed according to their Step.
***Benefits eligible position after 60 day waiting period. District contribution between $431.83 and $1290.96 pending your selection/enrollment. 10 sick days a year.
Qualifications:
Follows and maintains knowledge of applicable District policy(ies) and procedures.
Assists special needs students, in a small group setting, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
Provides transition programs, adaptive physical activity, life-skills practice and remedial work as designed by teacher for special needs students.
Assists students with tracking assignments and managing behaviors.
Escort and supervise assigned students in various activities (music, PE, recess, vocational activities, library, etc.).
Models appropriate behavior in various social settings; assists students with vocational skills.
Supervises a variety of student activities including playground, cafeteria, bus loading and unloading, field trips, hallways and other areas where students gather.
Ability to discipline with dignity
Ability to take initiative and be self-directed
Ability to stand, walk or sit on floor while working with students in the classroom or while supervising
Ability to physically lift, move or restrain a student on a regular basis
Must qualify or be able to meet standard for highly qualified para-professional

High School Diploma or GED required
