Compensation: $19.17 - $24.28 - New hires will be placed at Step 1 through 9 dependent on prior contracted educational experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all applicable District policy(ies) and procedures.
- Troubleshoots all instructional materials (e.g. chromebooks, laptops, or other electronic) equipment.
- Knows and uses Dewey Decimal System.
- Opens and closes library daily securing library equipment and valuables.
- Catalogs books and new equipment.
- Repairs, covers and binds damaged books.
- Assists students with reference work, selection of books, online reference searches.
- Assists with Accelerated Reader program and testing if used at the school.
- Supervises students during library visits.
- Prepares materials as requested by teaching staff for instruction.
- Processes check-ins and check-outs of books, periodicals, and reference materials and instructional materials (e.g. chromebooks, laptops, or other electronic) equipment.
- to staff and students before, during and after school.
- Processes new textbooks.
- Supervises and trains assistants and volunteers in helping students find resources.
- Coordinates set-up of special events in the library.
- Assists students and staff in operation of library facilities, materials and equipment.
- Works with students in groups or individually assisting in the development of media skills.
- Maintains circulation records for library books, reference materials, periodicals and textbook depository.
- Reads to students.
- Inventories, orders and stocks library supplies, books and magazines.
- Assists with collection of fees and billing.
- Maintains current records, tracks overdue and lost books and technology, creates accounts for patrons and manages student library accounts.
- Performs general office duties including answering phones, directing calls and taking messages as appropriate, greeting the public, typing, copying, filing, sorting materials, and general correspondence.
- Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
- Communicates clearly with coworkers and other staff.
- Dress professionally for the position.
- Attends work daily as assigned and is punctual.
- Adheres to daily schedule.
