Compensation: $24.01 - $30.42 - New hires will be placed at Step 1 through 9 dependent on prior contracted educational experience. Summary: Provide assistance in assessment, therapy, preparation of materials and clerical tasks as specified by the assigned pathologist. The S/LPA will work under the direction of the Speech Language Pathologist (S/LP) as an integral member of the Early Intervention or IEP Team. Must hold SLPA licensure upon hire date.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy according to plan prescribed, designed and regularly reviewed by the S/LP
- Collects/records speech-language samples to be given to the Speech/Language Pathologist (S/LP)
- Record therapy response data for the S/LP to interpret
- Assist the S/LP with speech/language/hearing screenings, without interpreting the information gathered
- Appropriately maintain and secure highly confidential records and inquiries
- Prepare therapy materials
- Schedule therapy-related activities and appointments
- Sign and initial treatment logs with co-signature of the S/LP
- Complete and sign third party billing reports (Private and Oregon Health Plan) with co-signature of S/LP
- Comply with HIPPA and FERPA regulations
- Participate in professional research projects as required
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by S/LP and/or Early Intervention Therapy Specialist
- Comply with EI/ECSE (Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education), Special Education, & ESD rules and policies.
- Certificate in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting; must hold, or be eligible to hold current licensure as S/LPA in the State of Oregon, and must be eligible for certification as a Medicaid provider
